    delicious breakfast

    Perfect for nature lovers

The staff was extremely friendly, going the extra mile to wake us up for a chance to see the Northern Lights. Also, the breakfast was a buffet like I never seen before, full of delicious options that fueled us for a long day of hiking.

It wasn’t inexpensive, but it was still acceptable for what we got.

    snug bed

I had a lovely time enjoying the warm and comfy room while feasting on one of the tastiest meals I’ve ever had at the restaurant. The peaceful walk behind the hotel was a perfect way to unwind, and I loved being able to catch a glimpse of the northern lights nearby! Just a heads up, the bed was a bit snug for two, but overall I had an amazing experience. 🌟

great location but room needs updates

The hotel's location allowed for easy access to Svinafellsjokull via a scenic trail. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which offered a variety of delicious vegan options.

The room could have been a bit bigger (for three people) and was a bit dated.

    clean rooms
    cramped room

Staying here was fantastic, especially because the location is perfect for outdoor activities! We took a wonderful hike to the glacier right behind the hotel and couldn't have asked for a better base for our adventures. Plus, the rooms were clean, which is a must when traveling with family and my aunt.

My wife says that the rooms could really use more space for families. It’s quite cramped, making it hard to manage luggage and the kids’ gear, especially after a long day of exploring.

The location is fantastic, offering breathtaking views and easy access to hiking trails. Although the food is delicious, it is quite pricey, and the restaurant service was a bit lacking. The beds were comfortable, but the cramped sink design in the bathroom could use improvement.

amazing access to hiking trails and stunning glacier views

I had a fantastic experience with a beautiful view directly facing the glacier and easy access to hiking trails just behind the hotel, making my weekend all the more memorable. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were incredibly helpful, especially in recommending great spots to explore in Skaftafell National Park, where I spent much of my time walking and enjoying the breathtaking scenery.

    expensive restaurant

Perfect for exploring the stunning glacier walks and breathtaking ice caves. The location made it easy to hike and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The staff was super friendly, and the breakfast was one of the best we've had in Iceland. Don't miss the trails behind the hotel!

However, the restaurant prices were a bit high, so if you're on a budget, consider the decent food options at the gas station across the street.

    giant pastries
    glacier hikes
    cramped rooms

Outstanding access to high-quality glacier hikes and ice caves makes this place ideal for adventurers. You'll appreciate the robust breakfast buffet, offering an array of delicious pastries that really hit the spot before a long day of exploring.

Rooms are quite cramped, especially when you consider the price—there’s barely enough space for suitcases, which ended up staying in the car. The restaurant pricing feels excessive. while the food is decent, I found myself eyeing cheaper options at the gas station across the road, which adds a bit of frustration when you're trying to unwind after a day of hiking. Also, breakfast could use more hot items. the selection was a bit minimal for my taste—more variety would definitely improve the overall experience.

    great location

    good breakfast
    pricey dining
    limited options

I had a pleasant stay here for a quick hiking trip. The location is unbeatable for accessing the glacier walks, just a short drive away. The room offered stunning views of the surrounding landscape. I mostly enjoyed the breakfast buffet. it had a great selection, including tasty pastries and fresh juices. The staff were incredibly friendly, really enhancing my experience. However, the dining options at the hotel felt pricey, particularly the dinner. I found better and more affordable meals at the gas station across the street. The restaurant menu was limited, and I hoped for a more varied selection of dishes. Some areas of the hotel, particularly the bar, felt a bit too functional and lacked a cozy atmosphere. A little effort in decor could make a big difference. Overall, a solid base for outdoor adventures but could benefit from some updates.
